The Role

We are currently seeking a Senior Designer – Roads & Highways to join our Perth team, supporting the design and delivery of major transport infrastructure projects across Western Australia and nationally.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and delivery of high-quality, innovative design solutions across complex infrastructure projects. You will provide a level of technical leadership across the design function, taking ownership of key project outcomes while working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and clients.

As a Senior Designer, you will play a critical role in shaping design strategy, ensuring best practice in digital engineering and design delivery, and supporting the growth and capability of our design team. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to some of WA & ANZ's most significant infrastructure projects while influencing the future direction of our Roads & Highways capability.

About You

With an established reputation in the industry, you will bring extensive experience in roads and highways design within a consulting environment, along with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, efficient, and commercially successful outcomes.

Suitable applicants will demonstrate:

  • 8+ years’ experience delivering major transport infrastructure projects, ideally within roads and highways design
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in 12d and/or OpenRoads and AutoCAD, with a strong understanding of digital engineering and design workflows
  • Demonstrated experience leading the design development process across concept, detailed design, and construction phases
  • Strong knowledge of local WA standards and specifications (e.g. MRWA), with the ability to apply these across complex projects
  • Proven ability to coordinate within multidisciplinary design teams, ensuring alignment, quality, and timely delivery
  • Experience managing design scope, programme, and deliverables, with an understanding of commercial drivers and project performance
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships
  • A proactive approach to driving continuous improvement in design delivery, CAD standards, and digital engineering best practice
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence outcomes across internal and external stakeholders
  • Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or equivalent tertiary qualification in Civil Design / Drafting (Bachelor of Engineering advantageous)
