The Senior Designer is responsible for executing the creative concepts of the Creative team and building layouts while working within production guidelines. The role is for designers who have exceptional design and production skills, and can implement them across media and channels. The Senior Designer can seamlessly switch gears between design and production in both the print and digital disciplines.
Creativity Executes layouts and comp-retouching based on art direction. Follows branding guidelines to deliver ancillary pieces based on creative instruction and marketing need. Ability to translate layout and design across media.
Design skills: Knowledge of print and interactive design: familiar with web design, layer comps, iOS platform, desktop applications, mobile and emails. Basic understanding of UI design concepts. Knowledge of print design, print production and retouching required.
Attention to detail: must have an exceptional level of attention to detail, create consistency between various assets types and ensure that every component is on brand, matches the intended execution, and follows any publisher or brand requirements.
Branding knowledge Ability to design materials true to the brand identity of product and style guidelines set.
Project Goals Ensure work is in line with the goals of the project, and that client needs are met.
Omnichannel Production Skills: Able to seamlessly switch gears between design and production in both the print and digital disciplines.
Makes corrections to layouts (art and copy) as indicated by brand team or client. Reviews corrected pages for accuracy and completeness of corrections
Collaborates with Art Directors during preliminary/concepting stages of work to provide composite artwork utilizing Photoshop and/or Illustrator or other current software. May also assist in creating or editing charts, graphs, logos, etc.
Adheres to and monitors agency guidelines related to file naming, file and folder management, scanning, mechanical builds, prepressing, disk prep, back-up/archiving, and un-archiving of digital files. Keeps Studio Manager informed when said guidelines are not being followed.
Prepares files correctly, professionally to specification with file build efficiencies
Organizes and maintains a level of quality control over master art and master logos
Assists in developing brand guidelines with Art Directors (colors, logos, master artwork, style) when called upon to do so
Releases production-ready files or build kits as specified
Communication Open communication with supervisor to share progress of work and design and communicates with art team. Is proactive in finding solutions for the project.
Time management Manages time wisely across jobs, meets agreed upon deadlines and is accountable and responsible for their work.
Experience Knowledge of agency functions or applicability of experience, previous design experience in digital and print.
5+ years of experience
Pharmaceutical advertising agency experience a plus
Agency experience preferred
Print experience is a plus
Proficient in: Figma (a must) Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and presentation design (a plus)
