Senior Designer

Mushroom Creative House | South Melbourne | Full-time

Design for the brands, campaigns and talent that shape music, culture and entertainment.

At Mushroom Creative House, we are a creative agency and production house that prides itself on developing and delivering the creative. Our Studio team is the beating heart of the business, the place where ideas are shaped, brands are built, and creative gets brought to life across
the entire Mushroom Group and a growing list of external clients.

We’re looking for a Senior Designer to join our South Melbourne studio and play a key role in delivering standout creative across everything from large-scale conceptual campaigns to the smaller (but still important) design work that keeps the wheels turning. If you’re a confident designer with serious craft, strong instincts, and the ability to think beyond the layout we want to hear from you.

The Role:

Reporting directly to our Chief Creative Officer, you’ll work independently and collaboratively across a wide range of creative projects. This role is ideal for someone who can concept, art direct, execute,
and elevate, while still being hands-on with the day-to-day production work when needed. You’ll bring a high standard of design polish, strong creative thinking, and a genuine interest in art, culture, music and what’s happening beyond the office walls.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Developing original creative concepts and executing them from idea through to rollout
  • Producing high-quality design across print and digital mediums including:
    • Brand, campaign and tour assets
    • Tour artwork, album artwork and packaging
    • Posters, press ads, merchandise, finished art
    • Websites, signage, logos and brand identity systems
    • Presentations and pitch creative
  • Managing your own workflow with strong attention to deadlines and budgets
  • Maintaining exceptional quality control over your own work and reviewing creative output from others
  • Contributing ideas to briefs and supporting the development of creative direction through research and insight
  • Collaborating with designers, developers, printers, agencies and external partners
  • Presenting concepts confidently to internal stakeholders and external clients
  • Coordinating production and ensuring final outputs are delivered at the highest standard

About You:

  • Creative, commercially sharp, and able to create work that’s visually strong and fit-for-purpose
  • Warm, authentic and easy to work with - able to build relationships quickly and deliver on your word
  • A natural leader who inspires others and enjoys helping a team solve creative problems
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to juggle multiple projects without losing attention to detail

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years’ industry experience
  • Advanced skills across Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly:
    • InDesign
    • Photoshop
    • Illustrator
  • Strong technical ability in finished art and preparing final files for print and digital
  • Excellent file management and organisation habits
  • Experience across branding, identity, advertising and website design
  • Flexibility and confidence working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
  • Interest or experience in music, culture, entertainment or events
  • The ability to generate creative & art direction concepts

  • Web experience (WordPress)
  • 3D rendering ability
  • An understanding of the ever changing and beneficial AI landscape and tools
