Job Description

Love geeking out on design system details? We are looking for a proven specialist who can shape, scale, and help operationalize enterprise-grade design systems within complex environments—with a strong focus on insurance workflows and future-ready, AI-supported workflows. This role sits within the Jutro Design System team with a specific specialisation and ownership focus on design tokens. In this role, you will work with design tokens, create components in Figma and with emerging AI tools, and collaborate with engineering and stakeholders.

In this role you’ll join a close-knit and multidisciplinary UX team working to make cloud software that is at the forefront of the insurance industry. We’re committed to building an inclusive workspace that embraces people with diverse backgrounds, experiences, skills, and talents. At Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI — empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.

This role can be located in any of Guidewire’s supported European countries, with a preference toward Dublin or Krakow (in office 2 days per week).

What you will do (must haves):

  • Create and maintain design component libraries in Figma, ensuring they are structured, usable, and up to date.

  • Write clear component and token usage specifications, pattern rationale, and best practices that empower application teams to design consistently and at speed.

  • Own and evolve the design token architecture and naming taxonomy

  • Manage the full lifecycle of tokens in Figma (Figma Variables, Tokens Studio)

  • Partner with design system developers to ensure seamless implementation of components and to ensure that design tokens align with code repositories (like Storybook).

  • Actively explore, test, and implement AI-driven tools and workflows to improve design & development efficiency for our teams.

  • Communicate openly, ask great questions, provide rationale, and defend design decisions; partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

  • Advocate for design system adoption and best practices.

What you will bring:

  • Proven design system experience: 3–5+ years working on creating and evolving a design system, component library, or UI framework.

  • Proficiency with Token Studio and Figma Variables.

  • Experience with GitHub, PRs, and repo-based token management.

  • Experience working with the Figma MCP server.

  • Strong systems thinking, understanding modular design approaches, AI, and how they break down to component level with tokens.

  • Knowledge of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG 2.2 Level AA).

  • Development knowledge (how design tokens and components are consumed in code, e.g., in component libraries).

  • Proactive and pragmatic approach with an ability to work with constraints.

  • Ability to suggest improvements and incorporate feedback into the work.

  • Cross-collaboration experience with PMs, engineers, designers, and other various stakeholders.

  • Experience with design system agentic workflows preferred.
