Job Description

This role will project manage the integrated solution development, ensuring that all options are deliverable, high quality, fully coordinated across multiple work packages, and aligned with stakeholder expectations. It will also lead the timely delivery of tranche package documentation, supporting the strategic objectives of the Long Term Growth Programme.



Integrated, design‑led utilities infrastructure is fundamental to the success of this programme. The role will coordinate the design and integration of site‑wide utilities provision and diversion works—including 132kV high‑voltage systems, potable water, data, communications, gas, and other essential utilities critical to the expansion programme. In addition, it will oversee the development of thermal and energy strategies that align with Heathrow’s 2.0 ambition and support a sustainable airport for the decades ahead.

  • Collaborate with the Programme Leader – Design Delivery to support the effective execution of responsibilities and ensure successful delivery of assigned projects.
  • Support the procurement and contract management of Design & Engineering suppliers, ensuring strong performance and coordinated delivery across work packages.
  • Lead the delivery of design and engineering outputs for one or more tranches, ensuring alignment with programme objectives, performance measures, and all relevant requirements.
  • Identify and manage risks and opportunities throughout the gateway lifecycle, leading optioneering and integrated solution development and securing stakeholder review and acceptance.
  • Oversee the production of DCO and tranche documentation, including environmental impact assessments, while ensuring quality, safety, inclusive design, and sustainable engineering practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement by capturing best practice and supporting team capability development and succession planning.
  • Extensive experience working within major project or programme environments.
  • Strong knowledge of project management tools, including Autodesk Collaboration Cloud and P6.
  • Proficient in IT systems with strong information management skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multi disciplinary design, engineering teams, and diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering successful outcomes in complex programme settings.
  • Ability to adapt to continuous improvement initiatives and effectively support change management.
  • Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience (5+ years).

Ideally, you will also have

  • Experience of working at Heathrow or comparable aviation or large infrastructure environment.
  • APM or similar professional body membership.
  • Development Consent Order Experience.

Working Location

Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of HeathrowWorking arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
