Job Description

As the DLE - Hot Gas Path (HGP) Senior Engineer, you will provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of design engineers responsible for DLE-HGP and combustion components. The DLE team supports the Gas Turbine Engineering (GTE) organization by providing design engineering support to our global supply chain partners. Our team maintains high technical rigor to ensure product quality while working with a sense of urgency to drive customer fulfillment. You will build analysis expertise across the DLE organization by mentoring global teams, with a primary focus on HGP. You will serve as the regional technical lead for the manufacturing shops. You will be responsible for analyzing and dispositioning hardware deviations and overseeing second source supplier qualifications. This hands-on position requires close collaboration with suppliers to optimize hardware quality and efficiency using AI-driven strategies.

What you’ll do

  • Perform studies and analysis assessments for turbine components using sound engineering principles adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
  • Lead the resolution of critical manufacturing issues for the HGP/Combustion components, identifying and implementing systemic changes to improve responsiveness.
  • Provide technical guidance to the DLE HGP team, mentoring engineers as a primary technical reviewer for the dispositioning of deviant HGP/Combustion hardware to ensure timely resolutions.
  • Lead the analysis scope within the GTE-DLE organization. Act as a mentor and trainer to build global technical expertise, helping the team interpret analysis results to derive clear, actionable conclusions for the deviant components.
  • Serve as the regional Single Point of Contact (SPOC) to drive quality and continuous improvement both within GEV manufacturing shops as well as external suppliers. Provide technical leadership to drive quality, continuous improvement at the shops.
  • Act as the technical focal point for hardware qualifications , ensuring timely resolutions to maximize business impact and minimize manufacturing disruption.
  • Partner with global teams to develop part defect reduction strategies and champion the adoption of AI-driven tools to optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Implement gas turbine design and manufacturing knowledge sharing to enhance part functionality, reduce costs, and add value, while ensuring all quality requirements are met.
  • Reduce hardware defects proactively to maintain high-quality standards.
  • Support simplification and standardization of complex DLE processes by developing standard templates
  • Drive risk assessment reviews for the deviant hardware with Technical Experts, develop documentation to capture best practices and prevent recurring non-conformances

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a specialization in Mechanical or Design.
  • 8–10 years of professional experience in gas turbine mechanical design, development, and testing.
  • Extensive experience designing gas turbine hardware or rotating machinery, with specialized expertise in Hot Gas Path (HGP) and combustion components for GEV Gas Power products.
  • Knowledge in analytical software, NX , Ansys etc.
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with manufacturing facilities.
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) with the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM).

  • Well-versed in lean manufacturing methodologies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing Process qualifications and process capability.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
  • Humble, open-minded, self-motivated, and willing to challenge the status quo to drive the delivery of high-quality GEV products.
  • Proven ability to mentor and train global teams in technical engineering environments.
