This Position reports to:
Engineering Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers. Each day, you will complete the tasks cost-effectively and in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies and standards. You will also showcase your expertise by collecting data and supporting production of the engineering design.

This role is contributing to the Electrification business in Smart Power division at Nashik, India.
You will be mainly accountable for
Develop and optimize mechanical designs using CAD tools and advanced engineering techniques
Ensure designs meet international safety standards, environmental regulations, and customer requirements
Collaborate with electrical, thermal, and materials engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
Conduct mechanical analysis, stress analysis, and thermal simulations
Manage design documentation, technical drawings, and engineering deliverables
Support manufacturing teams during prototype development and production ramp-up
Mentor junior designers and contribute to team knowledge development
Participate in product innovation initiatives aligned with ABB's sustainability goals
Review and validate designs for manufacturability, cost optimization, and quality
Engage with customers and field teams to address design requirements and technical feedback
Qualifications for the role
Degree in Mechanical engineering from reputed university (should be full-time)
You have 10 to15 years of experience in designing Low Voltage Switchgear, including electrical power distribution and Motor Control Centers.
Ability to analyze customer technical documentation and apply ABB product offerings to meet expectations efficiently, while proposing alternative solutions to optimize profitability.
Hands-on experience with mechanical and 3D layout drawing tools such as Solidworks, EPLAN Pro Panel, AutoCAD (mechanical), etc.
Data center project experience will be added advantage
Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external customers.
