Bosch Global Software Technologies Private Limited is a 100% owned subsidiary of Robert Bosch GmbH, one of the world's leading global supplier of technology and services, offering end-to-end Engineering, IT and Business Solutions. With over 27,000+ associates, it’s the largest software development center of Bosch, outside Germany, indicating that it is the Technology Powerhouse of Bosch in India with a global footprint and presence in the US, Europe and the Asia Pacific region.
Role: Own end-to-end design and development of low voltage electrical motors with direct accountability for product quality, cost competitiveness, and design robustness. This role is a core R&D function requiring deep integration with internal teams, ownership of critical engineering decisions, and protection of proprietary design knowledge. The role also includes: Design and Development of sub-assemblies (stator, rotor, contact plate) and associated active parts and passive parts like shafts with customer interface (worm, gears etc.), motor housing, bearing plate etc. for low voltage motors to provide modular solutions and conceptualize New Technologies for EM drives. Standardization of active parts design by development of design rules considering the different design topologies and the assembly processes. Key Responsibilities Take full ownership of motor design lifecycle — from concept to production release and field performance. Lead critical design decisions, architecture selection, and engineering trade-offs impacting cost, quality, and performance. Drive root cause analysis of field failures, define corrective actions, and ensure permanent resolution through design changes. Initiate and implement cost reduction (RPP) projects through design optimization, material changes, and process improvements. Perform and validate DFX (DFA/DFM) strategies to ensure manufacturability and scalability. Define and derive load cycles, analytical models, and validation criteria for design robustness. Own tolerance stack-up strategy and ensure functional compliance across all operating conditions. Collaborate closely with Manufacturing, QMM, Procurement, and Suppliers to ensure seamless product industrialization. Govern engineering documentation, CAD models, and BOM structures with full accountability in NX, Teamcenter, and SAP. Drive engineering change management (ECN/ECR) with impact analysis and cross-functional alignment. Act as technical authority for internal reviews, audits, and customer escalations. Ensure adherence to internal standards, ISO GPS norms, and PMI practices. Required Skills & Experience Strong expertise in low voltage motor design and development Proven experience in end-to-end product development lifecycle ownership Deep understanding of concept design, evaluation, and engineering trade-offs Design and development of plastic, sheet metal and die casting parts. Hands-on experience in: DFX (DFA & DFM) Tolerance stack-up analysis Proficiency in: NX (CAD modeling) Teamcenter (PLM) SAP (Engineering BOM management) Strong knowledge of ISO GPS and PMI implementation Preparation of Engineering documents (Drawings & specifications) as per design standards & guidelines Good Exposure to BES/PE principles. Experience in cross-functional technical leadership Excellent problem-solving and analytical capability Pro-Active, quick learning and capable of handling tasks independently. Good problem solving & analytical capabilities. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Optional Skills: DRBFM knowledge, preferably L2 certified. Experience in supplier Coordination Knowledge in reliability concepts. Familiarity with design validation using simulation tools.
