Location Overview:
Join our bustling Bromley office, situated in one of London’s greenest boroughs. Here you’ll find plentiful and easy commuting routes, with central London just 15 minutes away by train.
This is a critical platform leadership role, requiring Managing Director-level ownership, pace, and judgement within a Director mandate.
We are seeking a senior technical delivery leader to take responsibility of Business-As-Usual (BAU) delivery, stability, and evolution of the Strategic Full Reval Capability (SFRC) platform within Global Markets Technology.
SFRC is a strategic risk and P&L platform, underpinning key regulatory and trading risk capabilities across Global Markets. The platform supports a range of regulatory risk use cases, including:
- Market Risk Stress Testing
- CCAR
- Full Revaluation VaR
- Counterparty Credit Risk
- FRTB Standardised Approach (SA)
This role is accountable for ensuring the ongoing integrity, scalability, and performance of the platform, while driving continuous improvement and alignment to future-state architecture.
Although positioned at Director level, this role requires a team-member who operates with Managing Director-level accountability, monitoring outcomes across federated and high-demand production ecosystem. You will combine strategic oversight with effective delivery leadership, ensuring stability, efficiency, and controlled change across the platform.
The role operates in a high-intensity environment, requiring the ability to maintain clarity, control, and delivery discipline under pressure, while balancing BAU priorities with ongoing platform evolution
Responsibilities:
- Own and drive end-to-end BAU delivery and platform stability, with accountability across technology, data, and quantitative components.
- Ensure resilience, performance, and operational integrity of the SFRC platform across all supported regulatory use cases.
- Lead prioritisation and execution of platform enhancements and fixes, balancing BAU stability with strategic evolution.
- Maintain deep understanding of SFRC and Quartz architectures, guiding decisions, simplifying complexity, and ensuring alignment to target-state principles.
- Oversee delivery across multiple contributing teams (Technology, Quants, Data, Risk, Market Data), actively managing risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Drive effective incident management, root cause analysis, and remediation, ensuring continuous improvement in platform reliability.
- Maintain ample governance and control oversight, ensuring compliance with regulatory, audit, and internal risk requirements.
- Represent Technology in audit and regulatory interactions, owning responses and engaging credibly with control functions.
- Own platform financials, including resource allocation, cost discipline, and prioritisation across competing demands.
- Provide clear, concise updates to senior stakeholders, driving informed decision-making and accountability.
- Work closely with engineering teams to ensure delivery discipline, quality, and clarity of requirements.
- Drive adoption of efficient delivery practices, including automation, DevOps, and AI-enabled productivity where appropriate.
- Work closely with delivery leads across multiple concurrent platforms, ensuring effective coordination between change and BAU activities, and enabling both to execute without conflict or compromise to platform stability.
- Adhere to SFRC programme management standards, providing timely, high-quality updates and inputs to the SFRC Programme Lead (including weekly status and monthly achievements) in a timely manner.
What we are looking for:
- Experience delivering and operating complex trading and market risk technology platforms.
- Experience guiding large-scale BAU environments alongside ongoing change and enhancement.
- Ability to operate at senior leadership levels, driving outcomes in high-pressure environments with minimal oversight.
- High-level of stakeholder management across Front Office, Risk, Technology, and Finance.
- Demonstrated ability to combine strategic thinking with practical execution.
- Deep experience working with Quants, Market Risk, Model Validation, and regulatory stakeholders.
- Robust technical grounding, with the ability to rapidly understand highly-detailed architectures, data flows, and system integrations.
- Experience across the full SDLC, working closely with engineering and delivery teams.
- Deep expertise in Agile and scaled delivery models.
- Extensive knowledge of DevOps, release management, and environment coordination.
- Experience monitoring production platforms, including incident, release, and change management.
- Ample data and analytics awareness, when engaging with data, quant, and risk systems.
- Proficiency in Python, enabling credible engagement with engineering teams.
- Considerable understanding of risk, regulatory, and control frameworks within financial systems.
Skills that will help:
- Familiarity with cloud-based architectures (Azure, AWS) and principles of scalability and resilience.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted delivery tools and enterprise copilots to improve productivity and efficiency.
