This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Database Solutions Architect (MS SQL Focus) based in India.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced database professional to play a strategic pre-sales and advisory role focused on enterprise data protection, security, and cloud database environments. The position combines deep technical expertise with customer engagement, enabling you to influence large-scale database modernization and resilience initiatives across global organizations. You will work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to design innovative solutions, guide technical decision-making, and shape future product capabilities through customer feedback. The role offers exposure to cutting-edge cloud and data security technologies in a highly collaborative, remote-first environment. Candidates should be comfortable supporting North American customers and working within US Eastern Time Zone hours.
Accountabilities:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for enterprise database protection and security solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Partner with customers and prospects to understand business challenges and align technical solutions with strategic objectives.
- Lead technical presentations, product demonstrations, workshops, and executive-level discussions.
- Design, support, and troubleshoot proof-of-concepts (POCs), ensuring successful technical validation and adoption.
- Translate complex customer requirements into scalable database and data protection architectures.
- Develop technical proposals, white papers, and responses to RFPs and RFIs.
- Collaborate closely with product and engineering teams, providing market feedback and influencing future product enhancements.
- Monitor industry trends and competitive developments across databases, cloud technologies, and cyber resilience solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales lifecycle, helping customers overcome technical challenges and accelerate decision-making.
- Support customers primarily across North America while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration in a distributed environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in customer-facing technical sales, solution architecture, consulting, or pre-sales roles focused on enterprise databases and cloud technologies.
- Deep expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, including high availability and disaster recovery architectures such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Cluster Instances, and log shipping.
- Strong experience with cloud database platforms including Azure SQL, Azure SQL Managed Instance, Amazon RDS/Aurora, and/or Google Cloud SQL.
- Working knowledge of additional database technologies such as Oracle, PostgreSQL, IBM DB2, Informix, MongoDB, Apache Cassandra, and containerized databases.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, Go, or JavaScript.
- Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, data security, IaaS, PaaS, and virtualization technologies.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both executive stakeholders and highly technical audiences.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment with flexibility to support US Eastern Time Zone operations.
- Willingness to travel occasionally for customer engagements and strategic meetings (approximately 20%).
