We are currently seeking a Senior Database Administrator to join our team in Guadalajara, Jalisco (MX-JAL), Mexico (MX).

Senior Database Administrator / Database Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Administrator / Database Engineer to support enterprise database platforms across on-premises, Azure, and AWS environments. The successful candidate will be responsible for database administration, cloud migrations, high availability and disaster recovery, performance optimization, automation, and production support.

Responsibilities

• Administer and support SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Cosmos DB environments.
• Support database migrations, upgrades, patching, and modernization initiatives.
• Design, implement, and support AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, and Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC).
• Perform backup, recovery, disaster recovery testing, and failover activities.
• Troubleshoot performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, and production incidents.
• Develop automation using T-SQL, PowerShell, and scripting tools.
• Support monitoring, alerting, and operational reporting.
• Participate in on-call rotations, weekend maintenance activities, and incident response.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of database administration experience.
• 5+ years supporting enterprise SQL Server environments.
• Experience supporting mission-critical 24x7 production environments.
• Strong experience with database migrations, HA/DR, and performance tuning.

Technical Skills

Database Platforms: SQL Server (2019/2022), Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Azure SQL Database, Azure Cosmos DB

HA/DR: AlwaysOn Availability Groups, Distributed Availability Groups, Windows Server Failover Clustering (WSFC), Backup & Recovery, Disaster Recovery Planning

Cloud: Microsoft Azure, AWS

Operating Systems: Windows Server, Linux (RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu)

Automation: T-SQL, PowerShell, Shell Scripting

Monitoring & Operations: ServiceNow, Opsgenie, Redgate, IDERA, Splunk, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, or equivalent monitoring platforms

Preferred Qualifications

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM, CloudFormation)
• SSIS, SSRS, SSAS
• Azure, AWS, SQL Server, or Oracle certifications
• Experience supporting large-scale enterprise databases

Additional Requirements

• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
• Participation in a rotating on-call schedule, including evenings and weekends.
