What’s the role?
This role is part of our Mob Way program, a culturally grounded pathway unlocking senior opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders.
Through Mob Way, you will be supported to grow your career while staying connected to culture. This includes strong executive connection, opportunities to build your networks, and dedicated time for in‑community experiences and elder‑led cultural immersion.
Join Westpac’s centralised Data, Digital & AI ( DDAI) team and work hands-on with Generative AI and advanced machine learning to deliver real impact for customers and colleagues across the bank. You’ll design, build, and deploy production-grade AI solutions end-to-end, working on meaningful problems and seeing your work used at scale.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will be deeply involved in the design, build, and deployment of machine learning and generative AI solutions, working closely with engineers, platform teams, and business stakeholders. You’ll apply strong technical skills to solve complex problems, while ensuring solutions are robust, explainable, and aligned with customer and regulatory expectations.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute directly to the bank’s data and AI agenda by transforming insights into action, improving decision making, optimising operations, and enhancing customer experiences. Your impact will be measured through the quality, adoption, and business outcomes of the solutions you deliver.
