Our client, Amar Bank, is looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join their experienced and multicultural credit scoring team in Helsinki. This is a hands-on modelling role where you’ll take full ownership of end-to-end credit risk modelling projects – from data exploration and feature engineering to model development, validation, and deployment.

You’ll work closely with business, risk, and IT teams, applying your technical expertise and business understanding to deliver impactful models in a collaborative environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Developing, maintaining, and improving credit scoring and risk models using Python and SQL
• Conducting data analysis and feature engineering to enhance model performance
• Collaborating with business, risk management, and IT for successful model deployment
• Documenting models and processes in accordance with regulatory and internal standards
• Contributing to process improvements and supporting the adoption of new tools (experience with Vertex AI is a plus)

We’re looking for someone with:

• A proven track record in predictive modelling, preferably in credit risk or financial services
• Strong Python
  and SQL skills
• Experience in risk modelling and familiarity with the banking/finance domain
• Comfort working in cloud environments
  (e.g., Vertex AI is a plus)
• Excellent English skills and the ability to thrive in a multicultural team
• A self-driven, responsible mindset with strong ownership of your work
• Good communication and collaboration skills across teams
