What you'll do...

Position: Senior Data Scientist

Work Location 1375 Crossman Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94089

Duties: Generate tangible insights from data collected across multiple channels. Use algorithms and models to process and learn from huge datasets to make actionable predictions and recommendations for Walmart assortment selection. Design and implement data-driven models in Python using machine learning and statistical modeling. Create and implement evaluation metrics and validation processes to measure the models and forecasts. Collaborate cross-functionally to support product launching. Debug and improve the efficiency of the model. Document algorithms and methods used for projects in the Confluence page. Conduct code collaboration and version control using Git. Collaborate with stakeholders in generating hypothesis and building statistical models to solve complex business problems.

Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 1 year of experience in an analytics related field; OR Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering (any), or related field and 3 years of experience in an analytics related field.

Skills required: Experience coding in Python. Experience with data gathering and preprocessing data using SQL. Experience with machine learning and deep learning. Experience with mathematics, optimization, and statistical modeling. Experience conducting exploratory data analysis and visualization using Pandas, Pyspark, Pyplot packages in Python, and Microsoft Excel. Experience presenting modeling and analysis results to stakeholders using Microsoft PowerPoint. Experience testing and debugging using Python. Experience documenting project progress and task statuses in Confluence Pages. Experience with model deployment and infrastructure. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.

Salary Range: $171,337/year to $234,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives.
