Job Title: Senior Data Scientist

NorthBay is looking for a highly experienced Data Scientist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of professional experience in data science, with a focus on data processing, visualization, and structuring. The candidate should have a proven track record in leveraging advanced analytics techniques to extract actionable insights from complex datasets, and the ability to design and implement sophisticated predictive models to refine forecasting engines. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be working closely with various stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver data-driven insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of LLM-driven systems and agentic AI workflows.
• Develop and manage data pipelines for extracting, structuring, and processing large datasets to support AI-driven initiatives.
• Integrate LLMs (e.g., OpenAI GPT, Anthropic Claude, Gemini, Llama) into data workflows to enhance automation, insight generation, and business intelligence.
• Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to identify opportunities for LLM and agentic AI adoption in operational workflows.
• Build Python-based tools and scripts for data processing, visualization, and decision automation.
• Research and benchmark cutting-edge open-source and proprietary AI models to align with project and product requirements.
• Implement data monitoring tools and automated pipelines to ensure accuracy, reliability, and scalability of deployed models and data systems.
• Contribute to GenAI initiatives and help drive innovation through experimentation with new AI frameworks and agentic architectures.
  

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience in data science, data engineering, or AI-focused roles.
• Hands-on experience with LLMs (e.g., GPT-4/5, Claude, Gemini, Llama, or similar).
• Strong background in agentic AI systems and their practical applications in business or technical workflows.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python (data manipulation, API integrations, prompt engineering, and workflow automation).
• Solid understanding of data structuring, processing, and visualization.
• Proven track record of building and deploying data-centric and AI-assisted solutions.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and delivering complex technical projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical outputs into actionable insights for business stakeholders.
