What you’d be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start, but this will likely evolve.
At the moment, this role is focused on:
Acting as the strategic data partner to Product and Engineering leads across the Productivity space
Defining and owning the long-term measurement strategy for productivity workflows, collaboration and AI-powered assistance
Identifying step-change growth opportunities and helping the group set bold, data-informed goals
Leading complex, multi-squad experimentation and ensuring strong decision frameworks are in place
Building clarity across interconnected surfaces — aligning metrics across editing, workflows, collaboration and downstream impact
Coaching and growing senior data scientists while raising the bar for strategic thinking and influence
Anticipating future risks and opportunities through proactive insight generation
You're probably a match if
You’ve operated as a senior data leader and trusted thought partner to Product leadership
You think in systems and can connect multiple product surfaces into one clear measurement strategy
You’re strong in experimentation, but equally strong in ambiguous, exploratory problem spaces
You’re fluent in SQL and experienced in Python or R
You influence through clarity — simplifying complexity and helping teams make confident decisions
You’ve driven impact in high-growth or zero-to-one product areas
You’re energised by bold goals and building strategy in emerging spaces
You’ve worked in collaboration tools, workflow automation, or AI-assisted productivity products
You’ve defined north-star metrics and success frameworks for new product categories

The Productivity space is focused on helping users move from creation to impact — faster and more effectively. This includes workflows, collaboration, AI-powered assistance, and features that make Canva an essential daily tool.
It’s a space with significant growth potential and strategic importance. We’re looking for someone who can partner at a senior level, connect data to long-term vision, and help set crazy big goals — then make them happen.
