Under direct supervision, the Senior Data Processing Analyst provides support for a variety of Management Information System operations, including, terminal processes for major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, STATS operations, and provides lead worker style functional support to end-users within the data processing environment. Considerable judgment is exercised for the completion of processes, such as disbursements of A/P and payroll checks. Work is primarily assigned through MIS operations schedule, and/or the Helpdesk, and is reviewed through the end product and desired results by the Operations Supervisor.
DUTIES (NOT ALL INCLUSIVE)
Bachelor's degree in Political Science, Business Administration or MIS related field and four (4) years of related work experience preferably in MIS data processing operations; familiarity with the ERP end users process as well as ERP administrative services;
OR
An Associate's degree in Political Science, Business Administration or MIS related field and six (6) years of related work experience preferably in MIS data processing operations; familiarity with ERP end users processes as well as ERP administrative services;
OR
Four (4) years' experience working in the capacity of a Data Processing Analyst or comparable job classification. (GVI employees only).
FACTOR 1- KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
FACTOR 2- SUPERVISORY CONTROLS
Work is assigned by the supervisor of the section. Employee is expected to exercise on-going initiative and ensures that all data is being processed. In addition, the employee collaborates with various programs and personnel as authorized by the supervisor of the section.
FACTOR 3- GUIDELINES
Guidelines are contained in the, department manual protocol and local program data reporting procedures. Other guidelines are set by the department and the Virgin Islands Code.
FACTOR 4- COMPLEXITY
This is complex data reporting work, which requires saturation in the guideline and data validation protocol. Data entry, programming, testing and validation are part of the continuum of complexity.
FACTOR 5- SCOPE AND EFFECT
This position is to provide data on program participants to the government via the specific program reporting system. This is a critical position with the potential to impact the territory's performance and funding for management review.
FACTOR 6- PERSONAL CONTACTS
The employee is required to make telephone, fax, e-mail, File Transfer Protocol (FTP) and other web contacts with designated personnel. The employee also attends meetings.
FACTOR 7- PURPOSE OF CONTACTS
The contacts are for data testing, transmission validation, troubleshooting and conferencing.
FACTOR 8- PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work is mostly sedentary6 and requires a high degree of visual concentration and dexterity of the hands and fingers.
FACTOR 9- WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is carried out in an office setting, with appropriate lighting, air condition and desk.
