Opportunity Overview

As a Senior Data Platform Engineer at Teradyne, you will build and operate the modern data platform that our data engineering, governance, analytics, and AI teams depend on. Reporting to the Enterprise Data Platform Engineering Manager within the Enterprise Architecture and Data organization, your mission is to keep the platform running optimally—secure, reliable, cost-efficient, and easy to adapt so that Teradyne teams can deliver trusted, AI-ready data at scale. This is a platform enablement role focused on operating and optimizing the platform rather than delivering data solutions on it.

This is a deeply technical role centered on the administrative, operational, and FinOps controls that keep the platform running optimally. You will own cost management and optimization for the platform’s applications and systems, and you will lead and build the proactive monitoring and alerting capabilities that keep it healthy. You will operate a multicloud environment with Microsoft Azure as the primary platform and Google Cloud and AWS as secondary. A core goal of platform engineering is to onboard teams through defined playbooks that maximize self-service. You will administer the platform’s core services, including the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem, Snowflake (cloud data warehouse, analytics, and AI), Informatica (data governance, data quality, and application integration), and Semarchy (master data management)—as managed, well-governed capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering and operating a secure, reliable multicloud data platform, primarily on Microsoft Azure, with Google Cloud and AWS as secondary platforms.
  • Managing core data platform services such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Informatica, and Semarchy.
  • Leading FinOps and cost optimization efforts, including cost visibility, budgeting, forecasting, and efficiency improvements.
  • Building proactive monitoring, alerting, observability, and incident response processes to improve platform reliability.
  • Creating onboarding playbooks, self-service capabilities, templates, guardrails, and documentation to help teams adopt the platform efficiently.
  • Supporting CI/CD, production migration, automation, and standardized release workflows to improve deployment safety and operational consistency.
  • Partnering with leadership and cross-functional teams while mentoring engineers on platform engineering, FinOps, and reliability best practices.

      • Strong, hands-on administering the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem (OneLake, capacities, workspaces, tenant/admin settings, Data Factory, Real-Time Intelligence, and Power BI).
      • Hands-on administration of enterprise data platform services such as Snowflake, Informatica (data governance, data quality, and application integration), and Semarchy (master data management), or comparable tools.
      • Demonstrated FinOps experience for data platform cost management, capacity optimization, tagging, budgeting, showback/chargeback, and cloud cost tooling.
      • Proven experience leading and building proactive monitoring, alerting, and observability (SLAs/SLOs, dashboards, incident response).
      • Strong DataOps/CI-CD experience (Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions), infrastructure-/configuration-as-code, and administrative/RBAC/security controls.
      • Experience partnering with engineering teams to define and enforce CI/CD and production migration/promotion processes across environments.
