PROJECT & CONTEXT

You'll be designing and implementing scalable management systems for data-intensive pipelines operating at large scale, with high availability, security, robustness, performance, multi-cloud, and multi-tenancy requirements. The role spans the full development lifecycle — from requirement analysis and architecture through coding, CI/CD, TDD, integrations, deployment, and production monitoring — working closely with product management, fellow engineers, architects, and team leads to shape the future of IoT.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• 5+ years of software development industry experience in production environments
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Experience with Apache Flink and/or Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent event streaming/messaging platforms
• Proven experience building and operating microservices in cloud environments
• Solid experience working with both relational and NoSQL databases
• Ability to provide high-standard architecture, design, and implementation across complex, data-intensive systems
• Strong TDD discipline and excellence across the full software development lifecycle
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
• High self-learning ability and strong interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with agentic development tools and workflows
• BSc in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience
• English B2 or above
• Based in Portugal, available for hybrid work in Lisbon, between1 and 2 days per week

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience with Apache Iceberg and lakehouse architecture
• Background in IoT
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot, telecommunications, or semiconductor technology environments
• Exposure to multi-tenant SaaS platforms at scale
• Experience operating systems with multi-cloud deployment strategies
