  • Salary range from $143, 802 - $153,886 plus superannuation based on a 76 hour fortnight (overtime and on call not included)

About this role:

Our SEQ Telecoms Systems Engineering team has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Network Engineer to join the team in Brisbane’s CBD on a fulltime permanent basis.

This role will deliver reliable telecommunications data and network services by applying strong technical expertise and effective project delivery that support Queensland Rail’s operations, business goals and service outcomes.

Purpose That Counts - Some of your responsibilities will include:

  • Design, document and deliver telecommunications projects in line with engineering standards and performance requirements.
  • Provide specialist technical advice and support for operational telecommunications across the business.
  • Investigate customer needs, define requirements and implement effective telecommunications solutions through to completion.
  • Ensure accurate project documentation, effective handover and ongoing support to maintain performance, reliability and availability.

People Who Count - What you can bring to the role:

  • Demonstrated capability in designing, implementing, supporting and documenting telecommunications data networks in complex operational environments.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN communications, network security and technologies used in large transport or critical infrastructure settings.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and deliver telecommunications projects, oversee technical activities and meet required standards and timeframes.
  • Comprehensive understanding of telecommunications systems, cabling standards and installation practices for safetycritical railway environments.
  • Skilled in analysing customer needs, developing practical telecommunications solutions and ensuring reliable, sustainable outcomes.
  • Bachelor Of Engineering - (Electrical/Computer Science)
  • National Drivers license
  • Preference will be given to applicants with a minimum of a Cisco CCNA or equivalent certification.
