In this role, you'll:


Assist in delivering enterprise‑wide data capability by ensuring data models are consistent, scalable, and aligned to support analytics, reporting, and operational use across Transport for NSW.


Working as part of a collaborative data and technology team, you will:

  • Lead the design and governance of enterprise data models across multiple domains
  • Develop and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models aligned to enterprise data strategy
  • Ensure models are scalable, reusable, and optimised for performance across large-scale platforms
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and delivery teams to embed data models into enterprise systems
  • Support modern data use cases including real-time, streaming, and event-driven architectures
  • Improve data quality, interoperability, and consistency through standardised modelling practices
  • Contribute to governance, metadata management, and data standards across the organisation
  • Identify and implement improvements to data modelling practices, tools, and frameworks

This role operates in a hybrid working environment at Macquarie Park, Sydney, offering flexibility while enabling strong collaboration across teams.

About you


You are an experienced and collaborative data professional with a strong passion for enterprise data modelling and governance.


You bring:

Proven experience in data modelling across enterprise or complex data environments


Strong understanding of:

Conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling techniques
Data governance, metadata management, and data quality practices
Cloud data platforms and large-scale data architectures


Ability to balance business requirements, design standards, and system performance considerations


Experience working with cross-functional teams including architecture, engineering, and delivery

You are recognised as a trusted data specialist with strong stakeholder engagement skills, capable of providing expert guidance, influencing outcomes, and mentoring others.

Key Knowledge & Experience:

Expertise in relational, dimensional, and NoSQL data modelling techniques
Strong understanding of data governance and metadata management principles
Experience with SQL, cloud platforms, and performance optimisation


Essential Requirements:

Postgraduate qualification in Information Management, Computer Science, or a related field
Certifications in data modelling tools and enterprise architecture frameworks
