Senior Data Governance Architect (Part-Time Contract)
Ghent, Belgium (On-site)
Duration: 2 months (11 May 2026 – 11 July 2026)
Workload: 1 day per week
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Governance Architect to lead the translation of data governance strategy into a structured, scalable, and operational framework within an enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead governance framework workshops with business and IT stakeholders
Design and implement the data governance operating model (roles, processes, cadence, escalation paths, KPIs)
Develop governance policies and drive stakeholder alignment and formal sign-off
Build and mature a comprehensive Data Governance Playbook
Lead data catalog tool selection (requirements, evaluation, demos, TCO, and recommendations)
Oversee implementation of the selected catalog solution in line with governance design
Act as a trusted advisor to executive sponsors and steering committees
Required Experience
Extensive experience designing and implementing data governance programs
Hands-on expertise with data catalog platforms such as Purview, DataHub, OvalEdge, Collibra, Alation, or Atlan
Experience leading tool selection processes or RFPs is a strong advantage
Proven track record delivering governance frameworks, policies, and playbooks in enterprise environments
Key Skills
Deep expertise in data governance frameworks and operating models
Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills
Advanced workshop facilitation and alignment capabilities
Ability to translate governance strategy into measurable KPIs and operational processes
