Senior Data Engineer – Data Warehouse
Role Overview
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support the modernization of a data platform within a public-sector environment. The role focuses on data warehouse architecture, modelling, ETL, analytics, and the development of scalable data solutions using modern Azure technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain data warehouse solutions and architectures.
- Create and maintain dimensional and data models.
- Develop data integration and ETL pipelines.
- Work with databases, metadata, BI, and reporting components.
- Contribute to the modernization of existing data platforms and applications.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in an Agile environment.
- Apply best practices for data quality, architecture, and scalable data solutions.
- Take a leading role in data engineering and architecture activities.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data warehouse modelling.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Architect.
- Proven experience designing and building data warehouse solutions.
- Strong knowledge of data warehousing concepts, processes, and architectures.
- Hands-on experience with:
- Azure DevOps
- Azure Synapse
- Databricks
- dbt
- ETL/data integration
- Experience with Cognos or DataStage is an advantage.
- Experience in the public sector and preferably the waste management/environmental sector.
- Knowledge of Power BI, dimensional modelling, BI, and metadata management is a plus.
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Dutch: CEFR C2/native-level proficiency.
