Senior Data Engineer

We are hiring for experienced Senior Data Engineering Specialist to work on a high-impact role supporting critical data engineering initiatives for one of the world’s leading investment banks. You will design and optimize large-scale data solutions on Snowflake, with a strong focus on leveraging Snowflake Cortex AI capabilities to deliver intelligent, AI-powered data platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable Snowflake data architectures, including data modeling, performance optimization, security, and governance best practices.
• Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines using modern tools and Snowflake-native capabilities (Streams, Tasks, Dynamic Tables, Snowpipe, etc.).
• Develop advanced data solutions using Python (Snowpark) for complex transformations, data processing, and orchestration.
• Leverage Snowflake Cortex AI features extensively, including Cortex Analyst, Cortex Search, Cortex AI Functions (LLM functions), Cortex Agents, and AI-powered SQL to extract insights from structured and unstructured data.
• Integrate AI capabilities into data pipelines for intelligent data processing, automated feature engineering, semantic search, document analysis, and generative AI use cases relevant to investment banking.
• Good communication skills, ability to work independently and coordinate with variety of stakeholders across geographies
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to best practices.

Eligibility Requirements

• Strong development experience in a programming language such as Java/C++. Previous working 10+ years of strong experience in Data Engineering, with at least 5+ years focused on Snowflake platform.
• Good expertise in Snowflake architecture design, administration, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
• Strong hands-on experience in building ETL/ELT pipelines at enterprise scale.
• Proficiency in Python for data engineering, preferably with Snowpark for Python-based development within Snowflake.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake Cortex AI (highly critical):
  • Cortex AI Functions / LLM Functions
  • Cortex Analyst & Cortex Search
  • Building AI Agents and semantic models
  • Integration of generative AI capabilities into data workflows
• Strong understanding of investment banking / capital markets domain is a big plus.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Preferred Qualifications
  • Snowflake certifications (SnowPro Core / Advanced Architect).
  • Experience with other cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and tools like dbt, Airflow, Kafka.
  • Prior experience working with global investment banks or financial institutions.
  • Exposure to responsible AI governance frameworks (e.g., ISO 42001).
