About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Data Engineer


In this role, you will:

  • Lead moderately complex initiatives within Technology and contribute to large scale data processing framework initiatives related to enterprise strategy deliverables
  • Build and maintain optimized and highly available data pipelines that facilitate deeper analysis and reporting
  • Review and analyze moderately complex business, operational or technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of variable factors
  • Oversee the data integration work, including developing a data model, maintaining a data warehouse and analytics environment, and writing scripts for data integration and analysis
  • Resolve moderately complex issues and lead teams to meet data engineering deliverables while leveraging solid understanding of data information policies, procedures and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate and consult with colleagues and managers to resolve data engineering issues and achieve strategic goals


Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Data Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education


Desired Qualifications:

  • SQL & Database Performance
  • Strong expertise in SQL development
  • Experience in relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL)
  • Knowledge of query optimization and performance tuning
  • Experience in designing and managing data warehouses and data marts
  • Data Warehousing & Analytics
  • More than 6 years experience in data warehousing and analytics
  • Experience designing star/snowflake schemas
  • Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes


Job Expectations:

  • Hadoop, Spark, Python & Distributed Technologies
  • 4+ years of experience in data engineering and analytics
  • Hands-on experience with Hadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark, Scala)
  • Strong experience in Apache Spark for large-scale data processing
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing and pipeline development
  • Experience working with distributed data systems and big data architectures
  • Cloud Technologies (GCP)
  • Experience working on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Dataproc for Spark/Hadoop workloads
    • BigQuery for data warehousing and analytics
    • Dataplex for data governance
    • Cloud Composer (Airflow) for workflow orchestration
  • Ability to design and optimize cloud-based data solutions
  • AI/ML, Generative & Agentic AI
  • Basic to intermediate experience in AI/ML models
  • Exposure to Generative AI tools and frameworks
  • Knowledge of Agentic AI for automation and faster development
  • Ability to support data pipelines for AI/ML workloads
  • SDLC & CI/CD
  • Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools for build and deployment
  • Knowledge of version control tools like Git
  • Experience in automated testing and deployment pipeline
