The Opportunity

Architus is partnering with a leading UK energy company to help build a significant engineering presence in Lithuania. With a reputation for innovation, the company is tackling some of the world’s most pressing problems by creating better energy systems for the planet and for everyone on it.

You’ll work on building solutions that support the company most vulnerable customers, helping them manage their energy through changing times.

Across all the company brands we have around 350 Engineers all with varying backgrounds and levels of experience. One key thing that all of our engineers have in common is a desire to develop brilliant, industry redefining products as well as their own skills.

Your key outcomes will be

• Working with key stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver solutions that provide them with quality outcomes that allows them to realise their objectives.
• Using your domain expertise to design models that represent key entities within our domain.
• Transforming and cleansing source data into curated models that facilitates ease of use.
• Automating the ingestion of data from various sources including BigQuery, APIs, FTP, Kafka, Change data Capture.
• Building new api services for consumers within the organisation using best fit GCP services such as Cloud Functions and carefully selected data stores.
• Creating contracts for consumers and producers of those services.
• Driving software development, security and infrastructure best practises within the team that facilitate the delivery of high quality, stable solutions.
• Providing day-to-day support to users by responding to urgent requests and fixing bugs.
• Contributed to the continuous improvement of team health and seen that reflected in DORA metrics.

Within your first 9 months month you’ll

• Have established your credibility as a strong engineering leader
• Driven the balance between technical excellence and pragmatic delivery
• Delivered well architected, reliable, robust, scalable and secure services.

What we are looking for

• A proven track record of designing, building, testing, monitoring and managing and decommissioning large-scale sass services that include experience with data ETL.
• Strong experience in SQL, BigQuery, and other data stores including noSQL, and graph based.
• A thorough understanding of Python and / or Typescript.
• Experiens working with cloud-based data solutions (preferably utilising GCP).
• A detailed understanding of engineering principles and frameworks.
• An understanding of the elements of good system design.
• A proven ability to evaluate various options with respect to data modelling / pipelines / warehousing and storage layers.
• Strong attention to detail and a relentless focus on software quality, including rigorous testing and good observability to ensure your software does what it says on the tin.
• Experience working in an agile software development environment with CI/CD.
• The skills to create infrastructure with Terraform.
• Be open to using a degree of standardised tooling and 3rd party services.
• Had experience with front end frameworks such React, Angular.
