RecoTek is Reconomy’s new centralized technology hub located in Bucharest, Romania, officially launched in February 2024. About the role


We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join our growing data team and play a key role in shaping and modernising our data landscape.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, where you will design, build and optimise data pipelines, enabling better decision-making, improved customer experience, and scalable data solutions across the business.

You’ll work closely with Product, Business Analysts and Engineering teams to turn data into real business value.

What we need from you

  • Design, build and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines (batch & streaming)
  • Transform business requirements into practical data solutions and datasets
  • Improve and modernise legacy data flows and architectures
  • Ensure data quality, validation, and reliability across systems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, BA, Engineering)
  • Support data integrations across platforms and systems
  • Optimise performance, cost, and scalability of data solutions
  • Enable self-service analytics through clean and well-structured data models
  • Strong experience in building and maintaining data pipelines and data models
  • Solid SQL skills and understanding of data architecture principles
  • Experience working with Azure data technologies (ADF, Synapse, Data Lake, etc.)
  • Knowledge of data transformation, ingestion, and orchestration
  • Familiarity with CI/CD, version control and testing practices
  • Experience working in Agile environments
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Experience with tools like Databricks or NoSQL databases
  • Exposure to data governance, metadata, or cataloguing tools
  • Experience working with unstructured data or OCR workflows
  • Understanding of data visualisation tools or ML frameworks
