Responsibilities:

Designing and Building Data Pipelines

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest data from external systems, transform it, and load it into noSQL databases.
  • Define and evolve transformation logic to ensure data quality, consistency, and schema alignment across heterogeneous source systems.
  • Analyze and understand external system interfaces to inform integration design and anticipate upstream changes.

Data Modeling and Design

  • Design and maintain document-oriented data models, ensuring they support current and future business requirements.
  • Create and maintain data model visualizations to support cross-team alignment and architectural documentation.

Ensuring Data Quality and Reliability

  • Implement validation, monitoring, and alerting across the pipeline to ensure data integrity and early detection of failures.
  • Establish and enforce data governance practices, including handling of sensitive data in line with compliance requirements.
  • Design and maintain strategies for anonymizing production data and synthesizing test data to enable safe, realistic testing environments.

Driving Technical Quality

  • Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code; review peers' contributions and uphold engineering standards across the team.
  • Optimize pipeline performance for large-scale data processing, balancing throughput, latency, and cost.

Collaborating within the ART

  • Work closely with product management and engineering teams to translate business requirements into data pipeline solutions.
  • Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decision-making within the Agile teams.
  • Mentor junior team members and help improve development workflows and practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years' experience in data engineering, with a focus on streaming and batch data pipelines.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or Kotlin/Java.
  • Hands-on experience with streaming (e.g. Kafka) and NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB or DocumentDB).
  • Experience with AWS cloud services - including Lambda, GlueJobs, Eventbridge, S3 and CDK.
  • Solid understanding of data modeling for document-oriented databases.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices in a cloud-native environment.
  • Experience working in Agile/SAFe environments is a plus.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent English; Spanish and/or German proficiency is a plus.
