If you love data platforms, dashboards, and the occasional noble battle with messy source systems, this one is for you. We are looking for a Senior Data & Business Intelligence Specialist who can turn spreadsheets, APIs, and slightly overconfident business requests into something useful, reliable, and mildly impressive.
This role suits someone who combines strong software engineering fundamentals with modern data engineering expertise. You may have started out as a Software Engineer before moving into Data Engineering, which means you know your way around code, cloud platforms, and the sort of production-ready solutions that do not fall over the moment someone opens Power BI on a Monday morning.
You will also need to be comfortable across adjacent technologies, including AI, application development, and automation, because business needs rarely stay in their lane and frankly, neither do we.
At First Focus, we keep things simple, supportive, and refreshingly free of political theatre. We are Australia’s #1 mid-market MSP, with 330+ staff across Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines, and we have spent more than 15 years building a business that values capability, trust, and decent humans who get things done.
Our culture is transparent, collaborative, and growth-oriented. We trust smart people to do their jobs, give them real support, and keep the paperwork as painless as possible. We live our values, Live Curiously, Never Stop Growing, Be the Solution, and Win Together You can read more about them here
You will help shape the data platforms that power better decisions, not just prettier reports.
You will work on enterprise data solutions that span warehousing, lakehouse design, pipelines, reporting, governance, and integrations.
You will get the chance to work with modern tools and interesting problems, which is a much better use of time than naming columns by instinct and hoping for the best.
You will be part of a team that values ownership, clarity, and practical problem-solving.
