  • Strong collaborative culture with real influence.
  • Career progression opportunities in a growing organisation.

About the Role

Babcock is looking for a Senior Data & Analytics Developer to join our high‑performing IT team in Adelaide. This is a role where your work genuinely shapes how the organisation makes decisions, using data to drive clarity, performance and continuous improvement.

As part of our Information Exploitation team, you’ll partner closely with stakeholders to turn complex business needs into practical, high-value data solutions. You’ll lead the end‑to‑end delivery of business intelligence initiatives, design scalable reporting, and ensure our data platforms are reliable, accurate and ready for growth. Your expertise will help uplift our data capability, strengthen governance, and guide the organisation toward smarter, more informed decision‑making.

You’ll oversee solution design, platform optimisation, data integration and modelling, while shaping best practice and empowering business teams to develop their own reporting in a governed environment. This is a technical role with real influence — ideal for someone who loves solving problems, shaping strategy and driving innovation in a complex, fast‑moving environment.

To be successful, you will bring:

  • Australian Citizen with a Defence security clearance (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Relevant industry experience in business intelligence, data engineering, or analytics may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data & Analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Advanced expertise in the Microsoft data and BI stack, including SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, and related data platforms, with proven ability to design, optimise, and support enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Deep understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and data lifecycle management including migration and archiving.
  • Advanced knowledge of database management systems, data modelling, and analytical frameworks (including OLAP concepts).
  • Exposure to data engineering concepts such as ETL/ELT pipelines, data modelling, and working with large-scale data platforms (Desirable).

Your future at Babcock – what we offer you

  • Our agile working policies offer more choice and autonomy. For you, this could mean flexible start and finish times, a mix of office and home working, or even condensed working weeks.
  • Our work life integration policy offers attractive leave entitlements including (not limited to) wellbeing leave, volunteer leave, paid parental leave, defence reservist leave, and we are proud to be a Work180 endorsed employer.
  • Babcock’s supportive and engaging environment, coupled with our capability framework, aims to advance your career with internal development programs, self-led learning modules through LinkedIn Learning and access to study leave.
  • Our beRewarded platform offers endless discounts across retail, health, entertainment, travel and much more, plus novated leasing options and corporate shares plan.
