Your Role:

At DDIT R&D, we are seeking a seasoned Software Product Owner responsible for maximizing the value of our Data & AI products built in-house for our healthcare R&D users, by ensuring the product team delivers value that meets business and user needs. This role serves as the crucial link between business stakeholders and the product team, focusing on translating business needs into impact supported with technology. While product vision & strategy is co-owned with the business owner, the Product Owner excels at turning strategic direction into tangible product requirements through hands-on collaboration with users and business admins.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will champion a product mindset and focus on business value throughout the organization, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry best practices related to data analysis and data management, will be vital in enhancing the effectiveness of the product. You will report to the Head of Product Management in the Healthcare Digital, Data & IT organization.

You will join a multicultural team working in various methodologies. This role can be remote in Spain or our office onsite in Barcelona. Infrequent travel to Darmstadt, Germany might be required.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Co-define product vision & strategy for achieving short & mid-term product goals
  • Define & align product business case with key stakeholders
  • Drive product discovery through stakeholder engagement & solution design in collaboration with architects
  • Define and prioritize the product backlog items based on business value, urgency, and available resources, while ensuring timely delivery of the product roadmap.
  • Continuously gather feedback from end users and regularly communicate product updates across the organization.
  • Drive business stakeholder management and align between different parts of the RnD organization, managing expectations.
  • Work with testing teams to validate the product's functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Proactively identify potential risks or roadblocks and propose mitigating strategies to ensure successful roadmap delivery Stay up to date with emerging technologies.
  • Working jointly with software engineers to remove impediments to progress

Who you are:

  • Master`s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Natural Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with managing Snowflake based Data Warehouse platforms.
  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data governance principles
  • Demonstrated experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role, preferably focusing on data warehouses.
  • Ability to strategize for long-term product success and devise clear and actionable product roadmaps to align with the company's strategic goals and user needs.
  • Prior experience in Healthcare R&D and familiarity with medical vocabulary is a plus, experience with structured data in the Healthcare context is highly advantageous.
  • Experience with regulated processes for software development (GxP) is a big plus.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience in managing backlog items, sprint planning, and sprint reviews.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) in conjunction with Snowflake.
  • Robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with a detail-oriented and results-driven approach.
  • Organized and structured way of working, fast learner, ability to work independently and effectively prioritize tasks.
  • Strong ownership mindset and the ability to lead in a complex matrix organization
  • Experience with working in cross-functional distributed product teams of engineers, architects, product leads, QA & management
  • Fluency in English
