This is a senior, client-facing development role within a specialist ERP implementation and consultancy environment.
You will design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central solutions for multiple client engagements.
The role combines hands-on AL development with implementation, customization, integrations, upgrades, and technical support.
You will work closely with consultants and project leads while building long-term relationships with clients and understanding their evolving business needs.
The position offers exposure to complex ERP projects, including clients in construction and other project-based industries.
You will operate as an embedded member of a collaborative international team, contributing throughout the full implementation lifecycle.

• Design, develop, test, and maintain customizations and extensions for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central using AL.
• Contribute to end-to-end ERP implementation projects, including requirements analysis, configuration, development, testing, deployment, and go-live support.
• Develop and maintain integrations between Business Central and third-party applications, APIs, and other business systems, including Power Platform solutions where applicable.
• Support upgrades and migrations from legacy Dynamics NAV environments to Business Central.
• Troubleshoot and resolve functional and technical issues raised by external clients, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
• Collaborate closely with consultants and project leads across multiple concurrent client engagements.
• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable Business Central solutions that meet client needs.
• Produce clear and maintainable technical documentation covering custom development, configurations, integrations, and implementation work.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and colleagues, acting as a reliable technical partner throughout the project lifecycle.
• Remain engaged and responsive during UK/Ireland working hours while collaborating effectively with distributed teams and client stakeholders.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of hands-on development experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or strong Dynamics NAV development experience combined with recent Business Central transition experience.
• Advanced proficiency in AL and the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central development environment, including VS Code.
• Strong understanding of Business Central architecture and data structures, including tables, pages, extensions, and related development concepts.
• Demonstrated experience developing integrations with APIs, third-party systems, and external applications.
• Experience working across ERP implementation and customization projects, ideally within a consultancy or client-delivery environment.
• Comfortable working directly with external clients and translating their requirements into practical technical solutions.
• Strong written and spoken English, with the ability to collaborate daily with UK/Ireland-based colleagues and clients.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
• Able to manage multiple projects or priorities while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and delivery commitments.
• Collaborative mindset and the ability to build genuine long-term relationships with clients, consultants, project leads, and fellow developers.
• Comfortable working remotely and remaining consistently engaged through communication platforms such as Slack and Microsoft Teams.

Nice to have:

• Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, including Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps
• Previous experience supporting clients in construction, professional services, or other project-based industries.
• Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central certification(s).
• Experience migrating organizations from legacy Dynamics NAV versions to Business Central.
