Senior Cybersecurity Risk Analyst
The estimated start date for this position is February 16th, 2026.
Our Cybersecurity team defends our organization from cyber threats while protecting sensitive employee and customer data and information. As a Senior Cybersecurity Risk Analyst, you'll perform risk identification, evaluation, and mitigation activities throughout the organization. You'll be part of a skilled team of cyber professionals that support and secure information technology (IT) and operation technology (OT) environments that support our electric, gas, water, and wastewater operations.
Please note that this position requires reporting to worksites within the Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. A hybrid work schedule may be offered after successfully completing probation (six months). This position also requires participation in the Cybersecurity Incident Response Team, which may require working outside of normal hours.
What Else Will You be Doing?
- Participating in cybersecurity architecture and strategy team initiatives
- Ensuring that security requirements are adequately addressed in all aspects of project planning, technology requests, and reference architectures
- Engaging in cybersecurity supply chain risk management efforts (e.g., reviewing contracts, statements of work, sole-source requests, insurance reviews, and identifying contractual gaps in cybersecurity controls)
- Ensuring cybersecurity requirements are integrated into all phases of project management
- Evaluating project requirements to select appropriate pre-vetted models
- Identifying cybersecurity requirements specific to information system categorization, function, and nature
- Garnering acknowledgement of requirements
- Evaluating requests for new technologies for alignment with organizational cybersecurity strategy while identifying project-specific requirements and potential risks to the organization
- Identifying cybersecurity risks within the procurement process and working with appropriate business units to transfer and mitigate risk to the organization
- Measuring and reporting on vendor risk transference and organizational risk acceptance
- Evaluating vendor agreements and identifying needs for cyber language via amendment or renewal
- Participating in cybersecurity risk management activities
- Evaluating proposed changes to access control mechanisms
- Providing input to organizational cybersecurity policies
- Reviewing content for organization-wide cybersecurity awareness training
Who You Are
- Demonstrated cybersecurity experience, preferably with regard to risk evaluation and mitigation
- IT-related experience is valued (e.g., networking, scripting)
- Familiarity with reviewing contracts with an emphasis on cybersecurity
- Possession of, or the ability to obtain and maintain, cybersecurity certifications - CISSP, CGRC/CAP, CASP+, Cloud+, Security+, and/or GSEC
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Risk Management, or a related field is valued - or experience in lieu of a degree
- The successful candidate will possess strong verbal and written communication skills; the ability to think critically, creatively, and draw conclusions; strong attention to detail; and will be persistent and motivated toward achieving results
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or small amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
- Positions in this class typically require talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions within an office working environment.
