About the Role

As a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our CDOC operations, taking ownership of critical platforms, driving security improvements, and helping shape how we defend against today's most sophisticated threats. You'll work across a diverse range of tools and environments, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our clients' most critical systems, while continuously raising the bar across our security operations and leading by example. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

What You'll Do

  • Configure and update hardware and software to maintain secure, reliable environments
  • Establish and manage user accounts and access controls
  • Oversee and conduct backup and recovery tasks
  • Implement operational and technical security controls in line with organisational policies
  • Monitor and analyse open-source and proprietary threat intelligence feeds to identify emerging threats and vulnerabilities
  • Conduct in-depth research on threat actors, their TTPs (Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures), and their motives
  • Lead and coordinate incident response efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to contain and mitigate the impact of security breaches

What You'll Bring

  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical cybersecurity focused role – Experience in Cyber Operations preferred.
  • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to manage your own workload
  • Advanced understanding of the tools, techniques, and procedures modern attackers use to compromise organisations
  • A customer-centric approach ensuring consistency in service delivery
  • Strong knowledge of networks, firewalls, proxies, and operating system command-line tools
  • Knowledge of system/server diagnostic tools and fault identification techniques
  • Knowledge of systems engineering theories, concepts, and methods
  • Understanding of IT user security policies including account creation, password rules, and access control
  • Familiarity with threat intelligence frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK and standards like STIX/TAXII
  • Experience working with leading security technologies and platforms is highly desirable, including SIEM, XDR, endpoint protection, identity security, and secure access solutions from major enterprise security vendors such as Microsoft, CrowdStrike, Zscaler, Splunk and similar technologies.
  • Exposure to working on Intelligence platforms will be highly regarded
  • Be a Australian Citizen with the ability to achieve additional government security clearances.
