Job Description

[What the role is]

You will be part of a dynamic team within the Technology & Cyber Risk Supervision Department in MAS that is responsible for strengthening the cyber resilience of Singapore’s financial sector, with particular focus on keeping abreast of emerging threats and risk implications arising from artificial intelligence (including GenAI) and quantum technologies.

[What you will be working on]

In this particular role, the officer will be involved in the following areas of work:

  • Monitor the latest trends and developments in the cyber space (including AI-enabled threats and quantum-era risks) and assess the risks and possible implications to Singapore’s financial sector;

  • Conduct financial sector cyber threat assessments and work with FIs and internal stakeholders to raise their overall cyber situational awareness;

  • Provide recommendations on the cyber risk management strategy to strengthen cyber resilience of the financial sector;

  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to drive projects and initiatives in the following areas:

    • Cross-border cyber collaboration with other financial authorities and international standards-setting bodies;

    • Cybersecurity cooperation MOUs and agreements;

    • Cybersecurity workshops and exercises to strengthen cyber resilience in the financial sector.

[What we are looking for]

  • Good writing, presentation and communications skills

  • Highly analytical and have interest in technology and cyber trends, including emerging risks from AI/GenAI and quantum technologies

  • Effective team player, who is also able to work independently

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

  • Prior experience in cyber intelligence, threat assessment or risk management functions will be useful; exposure to AI security/fraud risk (e.g., GenAI-enabled attack patterns) and/or cryptography (including post-quantum cryptography considerations) would be an advantage
