IMEG, formerly Hayner/Swanson, Inc., is hiring a Senior Crew Chief in Nashua, NH to direct daily field crew activities that acquire survey data and complete assigned land surveying field projects. This role also provides survey assistance under the leadership of an Office Coordinator.

You will oversee field operations, train and mentor Crew Chiefs as assigned, and work with the Office Coordinator on field training and supervision. The work supports land surveying projects across New Hampshire and Massachusetts.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee and perform daily field crew operations to provide data for land surveys, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction stakeouts.
  • Operate, maintain, and care for survey equipment, data-collection equipment, and geodetic and reality-capture equipment.
  • Transfer files between data collection and internal company project folders.
  • Complete quality checks and process field data, including downloading, maintaining, and verifying project data, reports, and databases.
  • Maintain professional and productive working relationships with clients and coworkers.
  • Oversee and train team members to operate survey equipment, including total stations, GPS, levels, and data collectors.
  • Mentor Crew Chiefs as assigned and work with the Office Coordinator on field training and team-member supervision.
  • Perform pre-field staking calculations and prepare as-staked cutsheets and deliverables, as needed.
  • Operate a company vehicle and observe safety and security procedures.

What You'll Bring

Experience

  • 12 years of experience minimum required, 16 preferred, in the construction industry preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Advanced knowledge of surveying fundamentals and procedures recognized in the region work is being performed
  • Knowledge of modern survey equipment, devices, and methods
  • Self-Starter and ability to demonstrate advanced problem-solving techniques
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional and industry requirements
  • Ability to work in an outdoor environment
  • Possesses oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to professionally represent IMEG
  • Ability to collect field data in an organized, neat, and professional manner for boundary, topography for design purposes, and construction stakeout projects.
  • Valid driver’s license with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier; must consent to a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background check
  • Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel with occasional overnight stays

Preferred

  • Experience with Trimble, Leica Robotic Total Stations, Data Collectors, and GPS preferred
  • RPLS/SI preferred but not required
  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering Technology or Civil Engineering preferred
