KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
To appraise and make recommendations to Head of Credit on credit facility applications above delegated lending limits and ensure there are no multiple customer profiles.
Liaise with branches/Credit Analyst/Recovery Manager/Credit Administrator/Credit operations manager/Monitoring & control manager to facilitate training and coaching of credit teams.
Ensure that Credit Analysts/Recovery Managers/Credit Administrator/ Credit operations manager/Monitoring & control manager make regular branch visits, correspondences, telephone, etc. to ensure that the quality of applications is within the expected standards.
Ensure that there are continuous recommendations on new product development, credit policies/manual/procedural standards review and staff development.
Ensure that Credit teams and branches follow the bank’s Credit policy and manuals, BRB guidelines and best practice in appraisal, approval and conduct of credit facilities.
Ensure customer complaints on credit matters are effectively addressed at different levels within Department.
Develop/maintain effective monitoring mechanisms on entire KCBB portfolio performance with a view to making appropriate recommendations on the target markets.
Review and ensure correctness of all the reports from the credit analyst, credit admin, operations, monitoring and control managers before submission to the Head of Credit.
People management and run the periodic performance management of the 4 members’ team.
For the above position, the successful applicant should have:
University Degree from a recognized institution in Accounting, Finance, Economics and Statistics
Professional qualification in CPA (K)/ACCA/ITB or equivalent as added advantage.
Minimum of Seven (7) years’ experience in Credit analysis, Credit operations Management; Credit administration and monitoring & Leadership and people management.
Customer Service Skills.
Consistent knowledge on Risk Management, Product Development, Credit and Lending, Financial Analysis, Trade Finance, Leasing, Structured Finance, Legal requirements, policies and procedures, People Management Skills.
Computer Literacy
Excellent communication and project management skills
A dynamic, proactive, decisive person, who can be a change agent.
