The Senior Credit Analyst plays a key role in evaluating customer credit risk and supporting sound business decisions. This position is responsible for analyzing the creditworthiness of new and existing customers, recommending credit limits and terms, monitoring portfolio risk, and partnering with internal teams to help balance risk management with business objectives. The ideal candidate brings strong financial analysis skills, sound judgement, attention to detail, and the ability to manage complex accounts in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Group Credit Manager.

What you will be doing

  • Conduct in-depth credit analysis using financial statements, agency reports, payment history, and market intelligence to evaluate customer creditworthiness and support complex credit decisions for new and existing customers.
  • Lead and influence credit reviews for high-exposure, strategically significant, and elevated-risk accounts, providing well-supported recommendations and escalating concerns to senior leadership when appropriate.
  • Proactively manage portfolio risk by analyzing customer exposure, payment behavior, financial trends, and changing risk indicators to identify and mitigate potential losses.
  • Serve as a key partner to Sales, Customer Service, Legal, and operations teams to resolve complex credit, collection, dispute, and account issues while balancing commercial objectives with sound risk management practices.
  • Oversee accurate documentation of credit decisions, account activity, customer communications, and account maintenance through ERP systems, ServiceNow, and other shared business tools.
  • Drive continuous improvement through leadership in credit-related projects, process enhancements, and system initiatives while mentoring junior team members and maintaining advanced knowledge of construction lien processes, project-based credit risk, and related compliance requirements.

What will make you successful?

Required Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of relevant experience in credit analysis accounts receivable or a related finance function.

Preferred Skills/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field.
  • Proficiency in French or Spanish.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, commercial credit reports, and credit agency tools such as Dun & Bradstreet and Moody’s.
  • Ability to assess risk, apply sound judgement, and make clear, well supported credit recommendations.
  • Solid knowledge of credit risk management, collections practices, account monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Strong communication and organizations skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or enterprise financial systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, or similar platforms.
