Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9:00AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Holiday: NSW Holidays

Who We Are:

At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

Our client specializes in supporting self-employed borrowers through low-doc lending solutions. With extensive experience in non-standard and complex loan scenarios, our client has developed deep expertise in this niche, allowing them to provide tailored, high-quality guidance to clients with unique financial situations.

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Credit Analyst to support our senior credit team in the accurate assessment and lodgement of specialist loan applications. Reporting directly to the Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that all applications are perfectly structured and progressed efficiently through to approval. This role is a critical link in our production line, requiring a high degree of technical proficiency in the ApplyOnline (AOL) system and a deep understanding of 2nd-tier Australian lender requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Decision Making: Act as the ultimate authority for complex self-employed scenarios, navigating "grey areas" and providing definitive quotes where standard policy may be ambiguous.
  • Loan Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of loan applications against specific 2nd-tier lender requirements to ensure eligibility and serviceability.
  • AOL Management: Execute the accurate and efficient lodgement of applications through the ApplyOnline (AOL) system.
  • Pipeline Progression: Manage the application lifecycle from lodgement to settlement, providing regular status reporting to the Senior Credit Manager.
  • Refinancing Program: Support the firm’s active client refinancing program, working within pre-planned lending parameters and scheduled deadlines.
  • Compliance: Ensure all documentation meets strict Australian regulatory and internal compliance standards.
  • Lender Relationship Management: Liaise directly with BDMs and senior credit assessors at 2nd-tier Australian lenders to overturn declines and negotiate conditions.

Requirements

  • Australian Credit Experience: Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a credit-focused role, within an Australian mortgage brokerage or 2nd-tier lender policies.
  • System Proficiency: Advanced, hands-on experience with the AOL (ApplyOnline) lodgement system.
  • Operational Discipline: Strong ability to follow set schedules and maintain high output without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Communication: Confident in reporting to senior leadership and managing lender follow-ups.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to look beyond the "box" to find viable lending pathways for high-net-worth borrowers.
  • Specialist Lender Familiarity: Prior experience specifically with the credit portals and submission nuances of non-bank lenders like Bluestone, Resimac, or Pepper
