Senior Real Estate Credit Administrator

Opportunity Overview

A well-established financial institution is seeking a Senior Real Estate Credit Administrator to join its Credit Risk Management team.

This senior-level position is responsible for supporting the safe, disciplined growth of the institution’s Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loan portfolio The role combines credit leadership, portfolio risk management, underwriting expertise, and collaboration with lending teams.

The successful candidate will help maintain the integrity of the credit management process while supporting a responsive, team-oriented approach to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level oversight of the Commercial Real Estate loan portfolio and support prudent portfolio growth.

• Ensure credit presentations and underwriting analyses are accurate, thorough, and appropriately supported.

• Review and maintain accurate and timely risk grades.

• Evaluate loan structures to ensure appropriate identification and mitigation of credit risk.

• Apply strong underwriting judgment to complex commercial real estate transactions.

• Review documentation associated with complex CRE credits, including notes, loan agreements, security agreements, title documents, and related materials.

• Partner effectively with lending, credit, and other internal teams throughout the credit approval and portfolio management process.

• Support continuous improvement of credit processes, policies, and procedures.

• Recommend and implement policy or procedural modifications in response to evolving market conditions, portfolio considerations, and regulatory requirements.

• Maintain a high level of service while protecting the integrity and consistency of the credit process.

• Serve as a collaborative senior team member and provide support to colleagues as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 7–10+ years of relevant banking and/or commercial credit experience.

• Significant experience underwriting Commercial Real Estate loans

• Strong understanding of complex CRE credit structures and associated loan documentation.

• Demonstrated ability to assess credit quality, structure transactions appropriately, and identify potential risks.

• Strong understanding of credit administration, risk grading, and portfolio management.

• Excellent accounting and financial analysis capabilities as applied to credit underwriting.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to quickly understand and clearly communicate complex credit concepts.

• Sound judgment and the ability to balance business objectives with prudent credit risk management.

• Collaborative working style with a reputation for professionalism, responsiveness, and respect for colleagues.

• Ability to operate effectively in a team-oriented credit and lending environment.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related discipline preferred.

An equivalent combination of education, professional training, and relevant banking experience may also be considered.

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position depends on geographic location, relevant experience, education, technical expertise, and overall qualifications.

The position is also eligible for incentive compensation, with the structure and amount varying based on the role and individual performance.
