About the Opportunity
Soben, now part of Accenture’s Industry X Infrastructure and Capital Projects practice, we are working on one of Europe's most significant hyperscale data centre programmes. We are seeking a Senior Cost Manager to join our high-performance team on a site-based/hybrid basis in Helsinki. This is a key role supporting a leading global hyperscaler through all post-contract phases of construction on a mission-critical programme. The role is highly client-facing and offers strong opportunities to grow with the business as we expand across the region.
The Senior Cost Manager will take responsibility for full post-contract commercial management on major data centre builds. Working closely with the client, contractors, and the wider Soben–Accenture delivery team, you will ensure cost, commercial, and contractual governance throughout the lifecycle of Project X. This position requires excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, reflecting the client-facing nature of the role.
• Lead all post-contract cost management activities across a large-scale hyperscale data centre project.• Manage cost reporting, forecasting, cashflow, and budget control.• Oversee change management, variations, claims, and commercial risk analysis.• Provide commercial insight and recommendations to senior client stakeholders.• Support procurement, contract administration, valuations, and final account processes.• Conduct regular site engagement to validate progress, costs, and contractor performance.• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project controls, engineering, and delivery teams.• Contribute to business growth by supporting wider team development and regional expansion.
• 10+ years’ experience in cost management / quantity surveying• Strong post-contract experience on data centre or high-tech industrial projects (essential).• Demonstrable experience working directly with hyperscalers or tier-one contractors.• Comprehensive understanding of cost drivers for complex MEP-intensive projects.• Proficiency with major contract forms (FIDIC, NEC, JCT or equivalent).• Advanced commercial, analytical, and reporting capability.• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to influence and communicate effectively.• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while contributing to business growth
Qualifications
• Degree in Quantity Surveying (or equivalent construction/commercial discipline) – required.• MRICS qualification – strongly preferred.
