The Senior Cost Controller is responsible for leading and coordinating project cost control activities to ensure accurate, effective, and timely management of project costs in alignment with Client, Project, and Company standards. The role delivers expert cost management insight, ensures data integrity across cost systems, and supports strategic decision-making through the preparation and analysis of high-quality cost reports and forecasts.

The tasks you’ll perform

  • Provide technical expertise in the execution of Project Cost Control activities, ensuring alignment with Company and Client procedures, policies, and project requirements.
  • Support Project Services Management in developing, implementing, and improving cost control procedures and systems.
  • Mentor and guide Cost Controllers, fostering knowledge transfer and professional development.
  • Adopt and adhere to the established work procedures, practices, and plans of the Project Controls function to ensure deliverables and tasks are executed with a high level of accuracy.
  • Work collaboratively with personnel across all business units.

The expertise you’ll bring

  • Relevant Tertiary-level qualification, preferably in Accounting, Cost Control or Quantity Surveying
  • 5+ years’ proven, relevant experience in a Cost Control or related role
  • Proven experience working on international resources projects in the EPCM environment.
  • South African Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Sound knowledge of best practices in cost control, estimating, financial reporting, planning and the procurement lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office.
  • Demonstrate ability to and/or proficiency in the use of specific, relevant proprietary software packages.
  • Demonstrate ability to and/or proficiency in the use of relevant ERP and Project Management software packages.
  • Solid technical aptitude, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
