Job Description

Sedgman and HOCHTIEF Infrastructure have been appointed as the Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management contractor for Vulcan’s Lionheart Project, delivering an end-to-end solution for the Lithium Extraction Plant and Central Lithium Plant.

This marks an exciting chapter in our growth as we support major critical raw materials projects. Our team is at the forefront of delivering innovative, sustainable engineering solutions that drive the energy transition across Europe.

To support our growth, we’re looking for a site-based Senior Cost Controller to join our team in Karlsruhe on a contract basis.

As the Senior Cost Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide project controls support across cost, schedule, forecasting, reporting, and risk management.
  • Prepare and maintain project forecasts, budgets, cost codes, and earned value reporting.
  • Monitor project performance against baseline plans and implement corrective actions as required.
  • Prepare client reporting, progress claims, invoicing, and supporting commercial documentation.
  • Track scope changes, variations, risks, opportunities, and contingencies.
  • Analyse cost and schedule trends, cash flow, and forecasts to completion.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, progress claims, and invoices.
  • Maintain project schedules and master schedules using Primavera P6 or similar tools as required.
  • Contribute to estimates, feasibility assessments, and financial planning activities.
  • Support onsite project team, client engagement, and continuous improvement in Project Controls.

You are an experienced Senior Cost Controller with the following qualifications and background:

  • Tertiary qualification (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Project Controls within mining, construction, engineering, or a related industry.
  • Minimum 3 years’ practical, site based project experience.
  • Proficiency in project controls and planning systems, including JD Edwards, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project (or equivalent ERP and scheduling tools).
  • Strong reporting and forecasting experience, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • High attention to detail with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, workloads, and deadlines effectively in a dynamic project environment.
