The Tempe manufacturing site finance is responsible for the financial control, reporting, and analysis of the Tempe Device Manufacturing Operation. The team provides financial support to manufacturing operations as well as Quality Assurance, Maintenance and Engineering, Materials Management, and BTS support functions. The Senior Cost Analyst is responsible for financial accounting, cost allocation, collection of data, and preparation of reports that maintain AbbVie’s cost accounting systems for businesses supported.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and develops drafts of annual Plan, LRP and LBEs as required.
  • Ensures complete, accurate and timely monthly actual results, including variance analysis and commentary. Understands monthly results and communicates issues versus benchmarks to plant management.
  • Financial support for Plan and Update. Actuals/LBE (Latest Best Estimate) preparation. Review and understand variances from Plan/Update/LBE. Provide mid-month analysis of actuals and trend against LBE to plant management.
  • Responsible for assisting Operations team in the identification of areas for cost reductions and operational improvements, annual budget process, periodic forecasting and periodic analysis of operations performance.
  • Prepare, coordinate, and develop standards for assigned products or cost centers, and ensure timely communication of information.
  • Prepare and analyze journal entries and account reconciliations as needed during month-end close process to maintain appropriate internal controls.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to support complex decision making.
  • Leads plant reviews and understands the growth/performance of their business and analyzes variances of actuals vs benchmark
  • Responds to requests for internal audit, external audit and intercompany billing for tax allocation purposes under guidance of a manager.

Qualifications

•Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

•CPA/MBA desirable.

•Minimum 4+ year’s related accounting experience required with at least 1 year in a manufacturing environment preferred

•Familiarity with standard cost variances analysis preferred.

•Experience in SAP and HFM preferred.
