In the role of Senior Cost Accountant working on-site in Waukesha, Wisconsin you will be part of the Corporate Accounting/Finance team.

TheSeniorCost Accountantwill be supporting cost andmanagementaccounting, financial reporting and analysis, month-end financial closing, and audit. The role requiresstrong communicationskills and critical thinking. In addition, the position will require a robust investigative mindset and can work through efficiency improvements and opportunities as they present.

Major Responsibilities

Cost Management

• Manages preparation and execution of annual standards and monthly statisticalcost rolls

• Managesprocessinvolving establishment of standard costs of new parts, and review and analysis of standard cost of existing parts

• Analyzes the purchase price variance in the general ledger

• Audits cycle count activity, selection of items to be counted, recount decisions, research of discrepancies, and reports onprogress towards making improvements for greateraccuracy and coverage

• Assistsin the creation of cost of goods sold variance forecasts.

• Provides cost support to project management and engineering departments for new product introduction process.

• Assistinpreparationof inventory reports and charts for executive management.

• Maintains the integrity and accuracy of product cost data

General Accounting

• Prepares account reconciliationspertaining toinventory related accounts.

• Performs monthly closing activities including preparation of journal entries and explaining variances

• Assistsin SOX compliance audits, internal and external

​ Financial Systems

• Assistsin the development of procedures and controls associated with cost accounting.

• Ensures SAP system integrity and accuracy of general ledger and cost accounting data.

• Leveragesfinancial systems to streamlineprocessand improve organizational decision making.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

• Bachelor’s degree inaccounting orfinance

Work Experience

• 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility or similar environment.

• 2 years of ERP experience

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills with the ability to create andmaintaincomplex excel models.

• Able to influence others without direct authority and work effectively with all levels of the organization

• Excellent interpersonal, management, motivation, and analytical skills

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Ability to translate financial information to a non-financial audience

• Ability to convert metrics into meaningful information.

• Self-starter with initiative and vision; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced,cross functionalenvironment

Preferred Job Requirements

Certification / License

• CPA/CPA candidate

• CMA/CMA candidate

Work Experience

• Cost Accounting experience

• SAP and BI experience

• SOX and GAAP reporting

• Experience with a global manufacturing company

• Microsoft Power BI
