About the Role 

The Cost Accountant is responsible for analyzing, monitoring, and managing the organization’s costs to improve financial efficiency and support informed decision-making. This role partners closely with finance and operations to provide accurate cost reporting, identify variances, and drive process improvements that enhance profitability.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead cost analysis across manufacturing and operations to support profitability and performance goals
  • Prepare and deliver accurate, timely cost reports, including variance analysis and actionable insights
  • Partner with operations, supply chain, and procurement to identify cost drivers and improvement opportunities
  • Support month-end close activities, including cost-related journal entries, reconciliations, and inventory analysis
  • Maintain and enhance standard costing systems, including BOMs, labor routings, and overhead allocations
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and increase operational efficiency

  • Proactively identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost optimization
  • Maintain strong attention to detail while managing multiple priorities

  • Uphold strong internal controls and ensure compliance with company policies and GAAP
  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and Policies which includes the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure that all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, Laws, Regulations, and market demands.
  • Responsible for all tasks to achieve compliance goals and demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Must raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to their supervisor, manager, or any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistle blower service.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CMA preferred; CPA a plus)
  • 7–10 years of progressive cost accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Experience analyzing manufacturing costs and maintaining accounting systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders
