ChristianaCare is seeking an experienced healthcare attorney to join our Legal Department as Senior Corporate Counsel – Physician Arrangements

This is an exceptional opportunity for an attorney with significant experience advising on physician arrangements and healthcare transactions to serve as ChristianaCare’s trusted legal advisor on physician arrangements In this role, you will partner with executive leadership, physician leaders, Compliance, Human Resources, Finance, and operational teams to provide strategic legal counsel that supports complex healthcare initiatives and advances our mission of delivering exceptional patient care.

We’re looking for an attorney who combines deep healthcare legal expertise with sound business judgment, exceptional relationship-building skills, and a collaborative approach to solving complex challenges.

What You’ll Do

As Senior Corporate Counsel, you will:

  • Serve as ChristianaCare’s primary legal advisor on physician arrangements, including physician employment, professional services agreements, independent contractor agreements, affiliations, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and other physician-related transactions.

  • Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret complex healthcare agreements.

  • Advise leaders on Stark Law, the Anti-Kickback Statute, and other healthcare regulations affecting physician relationships.

  • Partner with executive leadership, physician leaders, Compliance, Human Resources, Finance, and operational teams to develop practical, legally compliant business solutions.

  • Lead legal support for strategic initiatives involving physician alignment, affiliations, and other enterprise priorities.

  • Coordinate legal matters involving outside counsel and oversee work performed by paralegals.

  • Mentor Assistant Corporate Counsel and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing legal team.

  • Manage a high volume of complex legal matters while delivering timely, practical legal counsel.

The Attorney We’re Looking For

The successful candidate is a collaborative healthcare attorney who serves as a trusted advisor and business partner. You will:

  • Have significant experience advising on physician arrangements, physician contracting, and healthcare regulatory matters.

  • Build credibility and strong relationships with physicians, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Communicate confidently during negotiations and challenging conversations.

  • Translate complex legal issues into practical, business-focused guidance.

  • Thrive in a collaborative environment while independently managing multiple priorities.

  • Demonstrate sound judgment, professionalism, and exceptional client service.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

  • Licensed to practice law in Delaware or eligible to obtain a Delaware Certificate of Limited Practice for In-House Counsel.

  • Five or more years of substantive experience advising on physician arrangements, physician contracting, and healthcare regulatory matters, preferably representing hospitals, health systems, physician organizations, or healthcare clients.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations affecting physician relationships, including Stark Law and the Anti-Kickback Statute.

Annual Compensation Range $152,027.20 - $243,235.20This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
