Job Description

Amazon's Legal Department is looking for a talented commercial attorney to lead legal support for Amazon Web Services’ global network infrastructure business. This position is on the Infrastructure Legal team within Amazon Web Services.

In this role, you will have global responsibility for AWS’s subsea and terrestrial network transactions, which provide the physical foundation for the most resilient and highly available network in the cloud. This includes deal strategy development, drafting and negotiating AWS’s most complex networking agreements, advising on pre-litigation disputes, and providing multi-faceted commercial, regulatory and compliance advice to the business. You will serve both as a trusted partner to business leaders across AWS's global networking organization, and as an escalation point for legal team members. You will be responsible for the strategy and shape of how the legal team supports the AWS networking business, including developing and improving mechanisms to handle high-volume transactional and advisory matters.

The successful candidate will be inquisitive, enthusiastic about technology, enjoy working hard and being continually challenged, and demonstrate sound judgment even in ambiguous situations. Basic Qualifications


- 10+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- Experience in technology and commercial transactions or businesses
- Experience managing legal teams

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience building scalable programs and repeatable scalable processes, levering various tools and methods to create scale and efficiency
- 2+ years of in-house legal experience
- Experience with network infrastructure (e.g. fiber assets, subsea systems, indefeasible rights of use)
- Experience with infrastructure projects (e.g. construction services, operations and maintenance services, project financing)
- Knowledge of telecommunications regulatory frameworks

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
