Corporate, External, and Legal Affairs (CELA) is seeking a Senior Corporate Counselto support the commercial strategy, global operations, operational compliance, and delivery of Microsoft technical services, designed to ensure deployment, utilization, and diffusion of Microsoft technology. CE&S is a strategic commercial engine and technical services organization within Microsoft’s Customer and Partner Solutions (MCAPS) organization. CE&S partners closely with customers to achieve technology outcomes through services, while ensuring environmental health and recovery through support. Operating at the intersection of product, engineering, go-to-market strategy and native AI deployment, CE&S stitches together a complete and differentiated customer experience, optimized customer outcomes, across the full Microsoft product portfolio.
As Senior Corporate Counsel, you will serve as a trusted legal advisor to senior business leaders on high‑impact, innovation‑driven engagements. You will advise on complex contractual structures and risk considerations, including intellectual property ownership, data and ensuring alignment on strategic initiatives. You will partner cross‑functionally with product, engineering, sales, and compliance teams to support go‑to‑market readiness, responsible AI implementation, and evolving global regulatory requirements to enable scalable innovation.
You will advise senior business leaders on legal considerations related to commercial programs for selling support and services to customers and partners, and delivery of services that accelerate utilization and value of Microsoft technology for customers, promoting AI diffusion. You will develop and advise on complex contractual structures, risk considerations, regulatory requirements, and commercial commitments supporting Microsoft ‘s sovereignty commitments. You will partner cross‑functionally within CPS, marketing, sales, and compliance teams to support go‑to‑market strategy and readiness, sales of Unified support and technical services at scale, delivery operations, and you will help ensure that Microsoft’s commercial support and services offerings address evolving global regulatory requirements.

Legal Counsel IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $147,000 - $258,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $185,900 - $278,900 per year.
