The Opportunity
Create lasting impact for a diverse and vibrant community. Lead a team driving equity, inclusion and integrity across Moonee Valley.
Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a passionate and strategic leader to join us as our Senior Coordinator, Umarkoo Wayi (Equity and Inclusion)—a role dedicated to shaping a fairer, more inclusive future for all who live, work and play in our community.
Umarkoo Wayi means “All of us” in Woi‑wurrung language, gifted to Council by Wurundjeri Woi‑wurrung Elders. This name reflects both our purpose and our commitment: ensuring every person, every story and every lived experience is valued in the work we do.
In this senior leadership role, you will guide and empower a multidisciplinary team spanning across youth, access and inclusion, reconciliation, LGBTIQA plus; inclusion, and community safety/prevention of violence. You will provide strategic advice across the organisation, strengthen partnerships, influence policy, and lead programs that advance equity and access across Moonee Valley.
This is an opportunity to work at a systems level—bringing intersectional, evidence‑informed practice into real action. You’ll collaborate widely, support organisational change, oversee key portfolios and plans, and help shape the next chapter of our inclusive community vision (MV2040, Council Plan and Health Plan).
